The NUBC is a voluntary committee whose work is coordinated through the offices of the American Hospital Association (AHA).  The AHA's Health Data Management Group serves as chair and secretary to the committee and is the official source of information approved by the  NUBC


Accredited Standards Committee X12 5010 Implementation Guides
In cooperation with ASC X12’s secretariat, the Data Interchange Standards Association, and ASC X12’s publisher, Washington Publishing Company, the AHA is offering the 005010 HIPAA-mandated Implementation Guide PDF downloads at a substantial discount for AHA members.  Click here to start your order.

AHA members are entitled to a $1,000 discount off the $2,500 ASC X12 non-member price for the complete package of all nine 005010 X12 Implementation Guides adopted under HIPAA.  Orders for the complete package also include four core X12 Foundation Standards.  Individual PDFs are discounted $225 off the $525 non-member price. 


National Uniform Billing Committee Official Data Specifications Manual

A subscription to a printable electronic version of the Official UB-04 Data Specifications Manual is available from the NUBC
(we do not provide hard copies of the Manual).  The manual is a downloadable, printable, non-extractible PDF secured by Adobe Policy Server. This subscription also entitles you to access additional documents posted to the Subscribers Only section of the NUBC website including meeting minutes (a searchable ten-year archive), recent changes, clarifications, errata and updates.

Single User License
The UB-04 Manual subscription is licensed to single user.  Under the single user license you may print one hard copy, but cannot share the user name and password or redistribute the electronic file.

Everyone is on the same subscription cycle of 7/1/to 6/30; there are no partial or pro-rata subscriptions.

Offline and online access to the 2010 UB-04 manual expires 6/30/10.  In light of the impending expiration date, we will discontinue fulfilling orders for the 2010 UB-04 Manual as of 4/30/10 and begin taking orders for the 2011 Manual only.

You may renew or order a new subscription online using Google Checkout -- it’s fast, safe and secure.  If you don’t have a Google Checkout Account, you will need to create one to complete the purchase.

Your email address will become your Login User Name and must match your Google Account email address..

When checking out, we ask that you DO NOT MARK the “Keep my email address confidential” checkbox. Your email address is necessary for us to make a positive match to the Login User Name in our database.  Your email address will not be shared or redistributed.

After Google authorizes the credit card, new subscribers will be sent instructions on how to register and activate their accounts.

       2011 Subscription Only

Subscribers wishing to purchase or renew their subscription by check, please click here for an order form.  

New subscribers will be asked to complete a short registration/activation process before accessing the manual (email instructions will be provided).  Renewing subscribers that keep their current Login User Name, will not have to re-register to activate their subscription.  The 2011 Manual will became available July 1, 2010 at http://www.nubc.org/subscribers/subscribers.html

Site Licenses
Subscribers that order the equivalent of 5 manuals ($750) have the opportunity to sign a site license agreement permitting them to make additional copies and to make the electronic file viewable to others at that (single) location.  The site license requires additional documentation.
